Its tough to become aware, but its very easy to become unaware of the fact that you are dreaming. I personally have had many dreams where I’ve become lucid, and then later become distracted and lost lucidity. There are precautions you can take to prevent or at least limit the factors affecting lucidity.
Factors Affecting Lucidity
- Distractions – very easy to become too intrigued in one thing and forget, try always to consciously be aware of the fact that you are lucid dreaming.
- Always question reality – as you begin to learn lucid dreaming, your dreams may become more vivid and realistic, which makes it harder to become aware, but always question reality even when you are awake. One of the most vivid dreams I ever had, I questioned if it was a dream, and even done some tests like clapping my hands to see if I can feel it, unfortunately I concluded that it wasn’t a dream.
- Will power – this doesn’t directly affect your lucidity, but it does affect your ability to control your dream, you must really believe and want to do something for it to happen, if your subconscious is saying you cant fly how silly is that you cant control dreams, then you simply will not be able to these things.
